Since 1997, DJs Rich Medina and Bobbito Garcia have collabed behind the turntables to the great pleasure of crowds in NYC and Philly. In ‘02, the two decided to start “Leaving This Planet” which had a torrid run at Manhattan’s Table 50 until the club closed in ‘05. They’ve since renamed the party “Happy Feet” and moved it to the Lower East Side’s Element, where in ‘07 it became the most talked about event of the summer months. The pair blend genres seamlessly, so that a dancer, or listener, can experience Afro-Beat, Latin, Jazz, Dance, Breaks, progressive Hip Hop, and Soul in an unprecedented presentation.
The achieved result is a entertaining night for the most die-hard rare groove fans to casual clubgoer—everyone leaves with happy feet!

Fams How y'all been? Been off line for a couple of weeks hanging out with my son, and getting myself ready for a long and full summer roster. Here's to another summer of great parties, love, and musical breakthroughs for us all. I'd like to send a special thank you to Mike Nyce and DJ Statik for holding me down at APT last week. I was in Philly at The Red Bull Big Tune event with Jake One, Vitamin D, Freeway, and Bahamadia. Special thanks to Jonathan Moore and Tayyib for the work! Shouts also go out to Malene Younglao for a dope show at Knitting Factory last week. Candyland at Walnut Room this past Thursday was mad fun! Thanks Stacey! Looking forward to the June 19th date! Afro Disco in Philly this past Friday was out of control! Doc and Carlos, y'all smashed it down with the Yoruba percussion once again. Turntable Unplugged Volume 1 will be an incredible night of live performances, featuring Sara Devine, Maya Azucena, Olu, and Ranjit, each performing 3 songs apiece from their respective new and known catalogues, TONIGHT. It's gonna be a sure shot, so check it out, show these incredible artists some love, and get a glimpse of what we have planned in the near future via The Marksmen Guerilla Production Network machine! Tonight, I will be at APT as usual. There was a scheduling change which forced the "Turntable Unplugged Volume 1" event at Tillman's to start at 10pm, and it was originally starting at 8pm when we initially planned the event. 8pm would've allowed me to have been involved more deeply during the live segments. With the event at Tillman's to start at 10, I will indeed be there to see my man Ranjit perform at 10pm, but when it's time for APT, I will be going to APT to start at my normally scheduled time of 11pm. Just had to clarify that considering how I've been getting blown up about why I won't be at APT tonight. I WILL BE AT APT TONIGHT NO QUESTION!...ok... Just got back from Atlanta & St. Louis this past weekend. Jason Wilkins, you got the biggest heart in the world man.
