Bobbito turned 21 last night, Monday September 25th...Psyche! Love you man, and happy 40th for real. Awesome party for an awesome dude...you know how we do my man.

The west coast trip with Triple 5 Soul was gonzolicious! One love to all my peoples in The Bay Area and LA who came out and showed love. Both rooms were rammed with bodies, and plenty of love. Extra dookie stain shout out to Geology, Benji B, Waajid, and Theo Parrish for allowing me the honor of rotating platters with you all on this tour. Looking forward to the NYC leg of the tour tonight, Tuesday, the 26th, at Canal Room. It’s gonna be an extravaganza! One love to Rebeca Diaz and her Daisy Duke denim jacket, and my man Ben Velez aka Grizzly Adams, for being so got damn cool to all of us, and making the trip so easy and fun for all of us. NYC is gonna be NUTS tonight at Canal Room! See y’all there tonight!

Extra special shouts to Wunmi and DJ Spinna for holding down Jump N Funk in my absence this past Thursday night. From what I understand, Wunmi’s crowd attendance was the biggest of any of the live acts we’ve had on our show so far. Congrats on bringin’ ya peoples to the table, and rockin’ it as you always do girl! Spinna, I heard from a little monkey that you held things together lovely for us on the wheels too, so thank you as well brother. Here’s to us rockin’ TOGETHER some time real soon duke!

Wednesday night this week we get right back to the bangin’ beats and smiles from cheek to cheek at APT! My special guest alongside of me will be my man my mellow DJ Edson ( Patta, Rock Well, Amsterdam). One of my favorite DJs in the world is in town and we gonna give it to ya all night long, like The Mary Jane Girls...APT, 419 W 13th St, between 9th & Washington, NYC. 1030pm til 4 am, still 5 bones...hollerate...Special guest in the place in October will be Pete Rock on Wed Oct 18th. This Saturday night, I will be rockin’ alonside my man Lucas Rivera at Mojito, on 21st & Market in Philly. Sunday night, me and my man Cucumber Slice, aka Young Bobby Fat Lace will man the decks at Element once gain for our monthly installment of Leaving This Planet! Last couple of months has been blazin’ in there, so we are hoping to see all our dancin’ peoples in the place Sunday night. Element, E Houston and Essex, NYC! 10pm til 3am, ladies free before 11pm.

Congrats to Shani & Anthony on the birth of their twins in Atlanta, and congrats to my man Masaya and his wife for the birth of their son in Tokyo just a few short days ago. God bless y’all, and here’s to me teachin’ ya kids how to shoot a jump shot and bargain shop for 12” records...holla!

Peace
On behalf of my partner Debbie Sealy, SOB’s and the entire Jump N Funk Staff, I would like to thank all my Philly and NYC peoples who came to the Jump N Funk 5 Year Anniversary Party last Thursday night. To Larry Gold and SOB’s, thank you for the cake, and for the relationship we have built thus far. Here’s to many more celebrations and anniversaries together for all of us, it was a truly beautiful night. One love to Tommy and the people at Speigel for hosting myself and Tortured Soul at Pier 17 last Saturday night as well. I will be out of town spinning for the 555 Soul DJ Tour in late September, and I am proud and excited to let you all know that DJ Spinna will be holding down the wheels of steel for you at Jump N Funk in September, with a special live performance by Wunmi! Thank you Wunmi, Keita and Spinna for holding me down this coming month. I know you’re gonna destroy the place! Have fun with it. Stay tuned for more information coming your way real soon.
