Peace Party People,

Hope everyone is able to stay dry on such a rainy week. Big thanks to Kamaal the Abstract Mr. Q Tip for rockin the spot with Rich last week...the night was pefect, aside from the invasion of R. Kelly and his tacky entourage.

I guess we could say that with the spottings of P. Diddy, Jigga, Ja Rule and other celebrities on several occasions, the word is getting out the we know how to party all night long on a Wed night. And Rich and I welcome 'Big Names' to come on through whenever they'd like. But please know our mission is to spread good music, good energy, and good times. So anyone who wants to par take in Rich's good environment...please come on through. BUT please know that the second any celebrity thinks they are bigger and better than the loyal party people (you guys) who have been supporting Rich for over 6 years now...they can stay the the fuck out. And I mean that. R. Kelly and his 50+ entourage (groupies) were not only feelin themselves, but they were jocking eachother so much that they didn't seem to notice that we didn't care who they were or that they were 'with' R. Kelly. And with or without them present, our party would still be through the roof. They were pompous at the door, they TRIED to be rude to Rich, and they were disrespectful to APT staff...and because of that I say to Mr. Kells next time you wanna come to Lil Ricky's Rib Shack, get your head out of your own ass and leave your entourage at the door. ...son!

Wednesday night at APT with Rich is NOT successful because any celebrities are coming through. The night is not hot because of the people on the guestlist or because of the folk who come in an just don't pay... Rich's night is the shit because people like you come and $upport everyweek. Becasue party goers like you, who come out on a work night to get it in, get drink or two, or three, tip the bartenders, and have a good ass time. That's why celebrities wanna check the spot...because you all and Rich and the APT staff create a dope environment...that makes for a beautiful dance floor! Thank you to all the devoted Lil Ricky's Rib Shack Wed. night partiers...w/o you Rich wouldn't have a job.

The Summer DJ Series at Pier 17 ( South St Seaport) in NYC on Saturday was one for the record books. DJ True ( ALMA NYC) beat it down out there in the afternoon, followed by yours truly and my man DJ Statik ( Illvibe Collective PHI) rockin' 'em until the morning light. Joanne, thanks for inviting me to be a part of the series, and here's to the next connections. One love to all the Alma NYC fam, JNF fam, Happy Feet fam, APT fam, and all the DJs, bartenders, barbacks, venue managers, door people, dancers, music collectors/distributors/selectors from all the  dope parties happening in NYC who came out and rocked with us too. As mentioned in last week's mailer, Afro Blu in Denver this past weekend was postponed, and we'll have more info on the reschedule as soon as we know the drill!

The "Moving To NYC" party at Foundation in Minneapolis this Sunday night was off the rack! One love to Zak, Beecher, and the Foundation crew! Best of luck to Sarah & Rico on your move to NYC, and i'll be seeing you guys on a dancefloor there real soon!

This weekend, I am proud and pleased to be a part of the summer DJ series at Pier 17 ( South St Seaport) in NYC. Saturday August 4th starts off with an afternoon set by DJ True ( ALMA NYC), followed by a Saturday night dance party under the stars with yours truly in the Spiegel Tent, with an opening dance set by my man my mellow DJ Statik. DJ True plays all afternoon, and I play all night long! Awesome combo! Please come on out and join us for what should prove to be a beautiful night of dancing in NYC this Saturday, August 4th, at Pier 17 in NYC. Details are as follows for this Saturday.
