Peace everyone,

I am taking the night off for once believe it or not. In my place at APT tonight will be DJ Kam and DJ Statik, so you will be in plenty good hands through the night. I just need a break…so rock it out and support them dudes!

I’ll be on a 3 day tear in NYC for the remainder of the week though.

The next three nights in NYC should be out of control! One night of afrobeat, one night of big room happiness, and closing on Saturday with a great one off night in Brooklyn’s finest new venue, Deity! Looking forward to seeing all of you at least once or twice over the next three days. Depending on your taste, we got something for everyone over the next couple of days, so let’s get it!

This past weekend in California was beautiful. First, Spinna and I played at “Nothing But Love” at Mighty in San Fransisco on Saturday night. Happy birthday Hakobo! The party was off the meat rack to say the least! Thanks for having us bro.

Sunday night, I had the pleasure of spinning alongside my man Spinna once again, this time in the lounge room of The Vanguard for the “Deep” 10 Year Anniversary party with Marques Wyatt. Garth Trinidad kicked off the night in our room lovely, followed by me and Spinna. In the main room, it was Marques Wyatt, Louie Vega and Tony Humphries….bananas….Prince chilled upstairs in the lounge with Spinna and I all night! He was dancing and playing air guitar on his cane the entire time….incredible….Rashida, thanks for bringing him by! Marques and Zanne, thank you for allowing me to be part of such a huge event, and here’s to Miami!

Peace y’all

Hope Chris Brown didn’t smack none of y’all this week….watch out for tough guy R & B dudes! In other news, Open at Santos on Friday nights with me and Q Tip has been off the meat rack! Thank you NYC and Philly, for all the love and support you’ve given us over the past 8 months. Open isn’t even a year old yet and we’ve been granted an NYC Nightlife Award, been bumrushed by hungry celebrities, and had some of the best Friday nights NYC has seen in a good long time…so thank you, thank you, thank you, and here’s to plenty more Friday nights together! This past Saturday at The BK Museum’s Target Saturday Series, Spinna and I broke the party attendance record wit our What The Funk party!!! The event was a huge success for us, thanks to our core family who has been following each of us individually for years, as well as since we’ve been together doing What The Funk since this past October at Love.

We rock shockin’ it as usual this week, with a few special treats. Tonight is your weekly dose of salvation at Li’l Ricky’s at APT of course. You know how that goes. Our apologies for the door nazi security folks who gave some of our people a hard way to go over the last couple of weeks. We are doing our best weed them out slowly but surely in order to get back to the old door energy we have all come to appreciate at APT. These dudes do not work for the venue, and we are just as frustrated with them as you are, trust me.

Friday night is Open at Santos once again. Q Tip is on tour in Asia over the next two weeks, so I’ll be holding it down solo! Looking forward to seeing you guys Friday night!

This Saturday, I have the pleasure of rocking alongside my man DJ Spinna at “Nothing But Love” at Might in San Francisco for my man Hakobo’s birthday party. To all my SF Bay peoples, you know how we gets down, so here’s to seeing you all on Saturday night at Mighty!

Sunday night is EXTRA SPECIAL!

I will be spinig alongside DJ Spinna, Garth Trinidad, Louie Vega, and Tony Humphries at Marques Wyatt’s “10 Years of Deep” Anniversary Party held at The Vanguard! This party has essentially been “The Shelter, and Body & Soul” of the west coast since it’s inception, and it’s a supreme honor to be a part of such a prestigious anniversary. Next Thursday, February 19^th, Jump N Funk returns to SOB’s once again for another Afrobeat smackdown! Asiko Afrobeat is playing at 8pm as well, and JNF will begin promptly by 1015!
